Ik Ben Mohammed plot
Director Roy Dames provides a comprehensive picture of young Rotterdam Moroccans in various life stages. Mohammed (29) was born in Morocco and came to the Netherlands when he was thirteen. He had "bad friends" for a while, but is now an enthusiastic social studies teacher. Soufian (17) arrived at the age of ten, studied electrical engineering and is studying hairdressing. He and his best friend Hamid (18) wear black jackets, greet each other with clashing fists and struggle to find a job. Drug dealer Tomaz (28) was 'born and raised' in the Netherlands and 'became a criminal'. But when a young Moroccan in the community center says: "If I may be honest, I just want to go into the criminal circuit", Tomaz gives him the wind.
