Honky Tonk Heaven: Legend of the Broken Spoke plot

Austin, Texas is home to the legendary honky-tonk Broken Spoke, which opened its doors in 1964. Owners James and Annette White, their two daughters and a number of musicians (including country stars George Strait, Willie Nelson and Dale Watson) who have performed on the small stage over the years, tell the multi-coloured history of the now somewhat ramshackle but very charming honky-tonk, a place to both listen to music and dance the two-step, preferably dressed in traditional western clothing. It's a real family affair: one daughter teaches dance, the other embroiders pretty embellishments on the cowboy shirts her father wears as Broken Spoke host. Wife Annette does the administration and keeps an eye on the bar and kitchen where her famous fried chicken steak is prepared. Although the business is now surrounded by high-rise residential towers and luxury apartments, Broken Spoke is holding up. But for how long?
