Hiljainen Tila plot

In the summer of 2002, trucks appear in the yard of Junkkonen's farm. Maija and Pentti Junkkonen, the director's parents, have succumbed to the pressures of progress. They are of advanced age and have no children to succeed them. The small village in which they live has modern expansion plans. This piece of countryside will soon be built up with industrial estates. Mervi Junkkonen follows her parents for several years in the process of parting from the farm life, which they had built up with great love. Junkkonen realizes that a chapter will be closed with her generation.
