Het Familie Ensemble plot
A very musical single-parent family lives in a remote farm next to the railway. Father Franciscus is an educator and singing teacher for his three daughters and two sons between the ages of 13 and 20. They practice difficult opera arias by Verdi on a daily basis. A unique family, because together they have all the voices: bass, baritone, tenor, mezzo and soprano. Young as they are, they strive for the highest level. The family approaches opera singing as a top sport that requires an early start. They each play their own instrument. They form an ensemble and perform as 'The Family Pondman'. Music is constantly played in the house, which plays a leading role in daily life and the idiosyncratic upbringing. Music is their passion and mission.
