Herman Slobbe plot

14-year-old Herman Slobbe is blind. He is a fanatic music lover, for whom the blues is the only true music style. He fantasizes his own radio program together and is a gifted harmonica player. He argues with his mother about their different musical tastes. Together they visit the car races and at home Herman brilliantly imitates the engine sounds he heard there.
