Heimwee plot
Selma and Hami, both born in Turkey, came to the Netherlands as teenagers in the 1980s. Selma had to go with her parents and after two years of saving she was able to make the boy she was in love with happen to her. This was the beginning of a great love – with a tragic undertone. While Selma finds her niche in life, Hami wants to return to his homeland from day one. It is now thirty years later. The three daughters stand on their own two feet, so the time has come for Selma and Hami to remigrate with their nine-year-old son Fati. The price Selma pays is leaving behind close family ties, especially those with her daughters and her mother, a best friend.
