At his drawing table and with a cigarette in his mouth, the Portuguese architect Álvaro Siza surrenders to the camera of director Iain Dilthey. Siza - committed socialist and inveterate smoker - is one of the greatest contemporary architects. His work is in line with his personality: simple and sober, fitting into the environment and timeless. The path he traveled and his early achievements also reflect Portuguese society in the second half of the 20th century.
