Although the recession officially ended in the summer of 2009, the effects are lasting longer for some 25 million unemployed Americans. Many of them were on the way up in their careers and dreamed of achieving the “American Dream”. This documentary takes a sobering look at the reality of long-term unemployment in America as seen through the eyes of some Long Island residents who lost their jobs in the wake of the recent recession.
