Tian'anmen Square is the center of downtown Beijing. After two reconstructions since 1949, the square is the largest in the world. State television journalists organize a large-scale film project about the raising of the national flag in the early morning. They interview the exemplary police officers, and the children from the deprived areas who attended the Children's Day activities. With these scenes, the film reveals the sense of news, and the interests of the state media and their journalists. A woman takes photos of tourists standing in front of Mao's portrait.
