Greasy Rider plot

Imagine a road trip in a 1981 Mercedes-Benz that runs on vegetable oil, a so-called greasecar. This documentary follows the filmmakers as they meet fellow Greasecar drivers, friends and critics as they travel from New Orleans in the southern United States to Seattle in the north. Their car runs on used shortening collected from roadside restaurants. With ever-rising gasoline prices and growing awareness of global warming, the political film hints that vegetable oil could be part of the solution to our energy problems.
