"In the face of injustice, no one is safe."
In the late summer of 1997, the two Chiong sisters went missing in Cebu, Philippines. Not much later, the body of a girl is found in a valley; she was raped and murdered. One of the Chiong sisters, it is believed. The police arrest seven local boys. Among them Paco Larrañaga, a boy from the better circles. Paco was arrested for having a reputation as a troublemaker, but at the time of the murder he was two hundred miles away, in Manila, in the company of some fellow students. Paco and his family are confronted by a deeply corrupted Filipino judiciary that seeks not justice, but condemnation.
