Get Out of the Car plot

A city symphony, filmed in 16mm, composed of shots of billboards, facades, and cultural landmarks in Los Angeles. In this short documentary, filmmaker Thom Andersen depicts the world-famous metropolis as a city subject not only to gentrification but also to deferred maintenance and neglect. The title is a variation on the song "Get Out of the Car" by Richard Berry. The soundtrack consists of songs and excerpts from LA's musical history.
