Gazas Tårer plot
The Israeli attack on the densely populated Gaza Strip in late 2008 killed many civilians, including hundreds of children. The camera focuses on some of them, indelibly marked by the previous winter's war. Amira wants to become a lawyer to do justice to the victims, Yahya a doctor to help the injured. For the time being, their lives go on as usual: Yahya's family celebrates an exuberant wedding. His father is just gone and Israeli helicopters flying over are a constant reminder of his desperate situation. Scenes from daily life and conversations with fathers and mothers are interspersed with shocking images of the bombings, from very close by. It is equally disconcerting to see how children are formed at a young age in the midst of death and destruction. It is the central message of the film, which does not shy away from emotional effects.
