Garbage Dreams plot

"Raised in the Trash Trade"

The Zabbaleen are a nation of garbage collectors. And they are proud of that, this community of about sixty thousand Coptic Christians, located in a suburb of Cairo. For generations they have been collecting garbage in the metropolis to sort, process and recycle it. For them, garbage is not waste but a way of life. With the arrival of foreign garbage companies, which use 'modern' garbage trucks and storage depots, the existence of the people is threatened. Suddenly they have to fight for their garbage, and there seems to be no future for the young generation.
