Frankreich, Wir Kommen plot

Documentary maker Michael Glawogger follows the actions of the Austrian national football team on its way to the World Cup in France in 1998. He sees the matches in the preliminary rounds against Cameroon, Chile and Italy through the eyes of different supporters: a journalist, a bank employee and his mother, a blind man, an alcoholic and the coach of a youth team. In 'Frankreich, Wir Kommen' it is not the performance of the team that is the most important, but the scenes that take place in front of the television screen. The high emotions, the love for the fatherland, the hope and the disappointment.
