Flotel Europa plot

Filmmaker Vladimir Tomic fled the bombs in Sarajevo with his mother and brother and spent almost two years as an adolescent on a huge ship in the harbor of Copenhagen. In 1992, about a thousand Bosnian refugees were received on that ship, called Flotel Europa. In a voice-over, Tomic tells the story of his coming-of-age in this surrealistic place in a slightly nostalgic, literary style. The residents filmed their daily activities with VHS cameras, intended as video messages on the home front.
