Familie Brasch plot

After the Second World War, Horst Brasch in East Berlin, as a fervent anti-fascist and Jewish Catholic, helped to build up the GDR. However, his wife Gerda will never feel at home there. Son Thomas becomes a great writer and dreams of a more just world, but like his younger brothers Peter and Klaus, he is critical of the prevailing socialism.
