Erie plot

Two sword-fighting gentlemen, one of whom always loses out, a man who tries to break open a car with a screwdriver, electric wire and angelic patience, a group of young girls dressed in raincoats that take a boat trip along a waterfall. Erie consists of self-contained events filmed in black and white in the Lake Erie area, all of approximately the same length and edited in sequence. There is hardly any talking, except by three employees of the General Motors factory. The plant, as many major steel and car companies have done before, will soon close - much to the delight of those who felt that the uneducated earned too much.
