Encounter Point plot
Encounter Point is a documentary about a former resident of the settlements, a Palestinian ex-con, an afflicted mother and an injured Palestinian brother, all of whom risk their lives to publicly stand up for a nonviolent end to the conflict. “For the first time,” says Ali Abu Awwad, whose brother was killed by an Israeli soldier, “Israelis and Palestinians are meeting to share their pain. We meet to talk about things that politicians use as a reason to kill each other. We say no! Stop using us as an excuse! We have now united.” Encounter Point explores the drive of those who have lost their loved ones and yet want to face their enemies. It takes the viewer to another layer of these two societies in which hate is replaced by a shared vision and equality. The film looks at what drives these people to transcend their anger and look for solutions at the grassroots level.
