El Silencio del Topo plot

In 2014, journalist Elías Barahona is called as a witness in a trial in which the politically responsible for the human rights violations during the Guatemalan civil war (1960-1996) are charged. In the mid-1970s, Barahona infiltrated the Ministry of the Interior as a press officer. Barahona, 'the mole' from the title, managed to save many lives with his knowledge gained there. Thus Barahona's life was forever linked to a painful, often hushed piece of Guatemalan history.
