El Gusto plot

In this documentary, the Algerian-Irish filmmaker Safinez Bousbia recalls the chaabi, a folk style of music that originated in the kasbah of Algiers and was performed by Muslims and Jews. After independence in 1962, the chaabi faded into obscurity. Safinez Bousbia went in search of survivors and found old men between the ages of 72 and 98 in Algiers, Marseille and Paris who still remember the heyday of the chaabi.
