El Cuaderno de Barro plot
"Who takes clay to Mali anyway?" the residents of the Dogon region wonder when a truck arrives from Spain with no less than four tons of wet clay. It is the necessary raw material for a performance by the Spanish artist Miquel Barceló and the French dancer and choreographer Josef Nadj. Paso doble is the name of the performance, which will be performed at the top of the famous Cliff of Bandiagara. It is a choreography for two gentlemen in black suits who attack the clay with clubs and bare hands, creating a work of art that fits perfectly with the environment.
