Eksil plot

When Suharto came to power in Indonesia in 1965, one of his most sweeping actions was a mass purge of members of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI). Thousands of people were killed and a large number of residents were exiled. Thirty-one years later, his influence is still felt in society. This well-crafted documentary tells the story of former PKI members who fled to Europe and built a new life there. The documentary shows how these displaced people live with their past traumas.
