Eisenfresser plot
The annual famine in northern Bangladesh forces farmers Kholil and Gadu to leave their homes with their families. As seasonal workers, they work at a shipyard dismantling shipwrecks in the south of the country. At the wharves, which lie on the beaches of the city of Chittagong, one has to manually dismantle the waste of the West: huge oil tankers and container ships. Director Shaheen Dill-Riaz witnesses a system of exploitation from which few employees can escape. The seasonal workers from the north not only get the most dangerous jobs on the construction site, but also find themselves in a deadlock of ever-increasing debt.
