Ein Sommer Voller Türen plot

A summer outing with collectors from the Maltese Relief Organization in the Bavarian province of Mühldorf provides insight into the mutual competition and tenacity that these door-to-door salesmen (have to) show. Collecting today is much more than a volunteer job. As the representative of the organization, who is related to the Red Cross, explains, "Collecting is a very effective way of fundraising." No (high) investments are required and once you sign at the door, you will remain a donor for an average of seven to eight years. With a thousand signatures, a collector earns, according to the woman, 80 to 100 thousand euros for the organization in eight years. Filmmaker Stefan Ludwig follows a group of aspiring collectors who, led by a slick team leader, learn the tricks of this 'trade'.
