In Eastern Europe, homophobia is openly displayed by the political authorities. This report is about the gay emancipation movement in Moscow where gay prides were banned in 2006 and 2007 under pressure from the police, neo-Nazi groups and Orthodox priests. We get a picture of the daily life of gays and lesbians, characterized by relative freedom and constant fear.
