While drone technology is advancing infinitely faster than international law, making it still shady when the use of drones is legitimate, the CIA in Pakistan has been conducting drone strikes for years that claim massive numbers of civilian casualties. And that while America is not even officially at war with the country. Drone tells the shocking stories of Pakistani relatives of drone victims, of passionate human rights lawyers and activists, and of drone manufacturers and pilots. Those pilots, young boys who carry out deadly attacks from the Nevada desert that they often can barely comprehend, are actively recruited into the game world. “It was just a matter of aiming and firing.” Drone demonstrates how drone technology is radically changing the nature of warfare by enabling massive, invisible, and long-range killing. This film gives a voice to the critics, victims and perpetrators, who fight for openness, accountability and justice.
