Drei Frauen und der Krieg plot

During the Second World War, women were also allowed to work as war correspondents for the first time. On the basis of reports, letters and diary fragments, filmmaker Luzia Schmid sketches a personal portrait of three fearless women and their unique attempts to interpret the war. Margaret Bourke-White, Martha Gellhorn and Lee Miller already had an impressive track record, and it was natural for them to head for the battlefield. But what initially seems fun and exciting, becomes more frustrating as the war continues. Stubborn husbands are obnoxious, the atrocities increase and they also encounter opposition on a professional level.
