Double Take plot
"If you meet your double, you should kill him."
Johan Grimonprez' latest film "Double Take" is a free adaptation of a short story by the Argentine author Jorge Luis Borges starring the professional Hitchcock lookalike Ron Burrage. At the same time, it is a cinematic meditation on the role of the media in the culture of mistrust and fear that defines our world today. “Double Take” explores the ideology and politics of fear of the past fifty years, from the Cold War to the “War on Terror” and from “The Birds” to “Independence Day.” While the film exposes the ideological power of cinema and television, a second storyline develops for the viewer in which Alfred Hitchcock pursues his doppelganger in a self-designed murder plot.
