It’s astonishing what this man has been through. You can’t even capture it in a film and even if you could it would be a mix of the eponymous The Dogs of War (Film, 1980) and Lord of War (Film, 2005) ... David Tomkins was active as a mercenary in Angola, then became an international arms dealer and was paid to kill Escobar. I thought it was a gripping documentary that takes a fascinating look at the underworld of mercenaries... ultimately their motivation is nothing more than making money because they were basically too stupid to do anything else. Tomkins, a self-confessed criminal, has no regrets about his life (he has many lives on his conscience) and talks about it like a cool businessman.
