Die Mitte plot
In this documentary, director Stanislaw Mucha goes in search of the geographical center of Europe. Within a radius of two thousand kilometers, a dozen towns claim to be the center of Europe. For Stanislaw, this is the reason for an odyssey through Germany, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania and the Ukraine. Along the way, he not only meets a ritual healer and a monk, but also teenagers from Chernobil and 'Aunt Raja' who spends her days in a newspaper kiosk. Questions are asked from behind the camera, but when it comes out, the crew is not afraid to step back into the picture. The soundtrack, which includes Beethoven's 'Alle Menschen became BrĂ¼der', provides ironic commentary.
