Die Brücke von Mitrovica plot

Since the 1999 war, Mitrovica has been an ethnically divided city in Kosovo. The bridge that used to connect the city now separates the Albanian from the Serbian side. Two former residents of Kosovo, one Albanian, the other Serbian, now live with their parents in Switzerland. The girls agree to have a camera follow them on the journey to their homeland. They ponder the filmmaker's request to shake hands on the bridge that now separates their two peoples. Will they do so after returning to their village and witnessing the misery and despair that has prevailed in Kosovo for the past ten years?
