Deux Fois Cinquante Ans de Cinéma Français plot

Documentary in which Godard and Miéville reflect on the reasons for the celebration of the centenary of cinema. What is actually celebrated? Actually not the fantastic possibilities of the medium itself, but the first time people paid money to attend a performance. The video contains many aphoristic texts and fragments from historical films, but the core is formed by a conversation between Godard and Michel Piccoli as chairman of the French centenary committee. Godard bombards him with tricky and tricky questions that Piccoli can't always answer satisfactorily. Slowly but surely Piccoli himself begins to doubt the obviousness of the lustrum. The conversation took place in a Swiss hotel whose staff was also assigned a role in the video.
