Deutsche Seelen - Leben nach der Colonia Dignidad plot
Nazi Paul Schäfer fled to Chile after World War II, where he founded a sect in the remote mountainous region. For years he ruled over a group of several hundred people, Germans and Chileans, who lived cut off from the modern world in apparent fear of their leader. During the military regime of General Augusto Pinochet, his Colonia Dignidad estate was used by the secret service to torture opponents. The cult members were also accused of child abuse. In 1962, two children joined the cult, along with 500 other German cult members. 40 years later they tell their story in this documentary.
