Baaibuurt West was a residential haven for a unique mix of artists, students, and other free spirits until it was demolished in late 2024 to make way for a new housing development in Amsterdam. Filmmaker Mirte Jepma spent the last six months following the close-knit community, which cared for each other and created a living environment where everyone could thrive. How is it that a progressive city council, which preaches inclusivity, seems to ruthlessly ignore the residential community in Baaibuurt West?
