De Werkelijkheid van Jan Vrijman plot

The journalist, filmmaker and columnist Jan Vrijman (1925-1997) is an integral part of the Dutch social and cultural scene in the second half of the twentieth century. When he died in May 1997, Jan Hulsebos, husband and father of four children, died with him. Jan Vrijman was a dynamic, energetic, driven personality. Jan Hulsebos, on the other hand, was a laboriously living person, plagued by depression and insomnia, eternally struggling with existence. In this film, his eldest daughter, Fabie Hulsebos, who grew up with Jan Hulsebos, wants to look for that other man: Jan Vrijman, his motivations and the work he left behind.
