"The World According to Monsieur Khiar" tells the story of world-famous Middle East photographer Jeroen Kramer who, traumatized by years of war reporting, is determined to make a new start as an artist. Kramer meets Monsieur Khiar in his hometown of Beirut. A mysterious personality who, despite the civil war, has not lost his love for life, art and literature. Khiar becomes obsessed with Kramer and he delves into the life of the Lebanese. An existential quest follows. A decisive battle to turn memories of war and violence into art and thereby find peace within oneself.
