De Verpleegkundig Specialist plot

Due to the illness of a family member, independent documentary maker Gwen Jansen came into contact with a nurse specialist. This is a healthcare professional with far-reaching powers who was introduced in the Netherlands by then minister Els Borst 26 years ago, but whose existence Gwen did not know. In that capacity, the documentary maker asked himself a number of questions: Who is that nurse specialist? Since when was this healthcare professional introduced and for what purpose?
