De Terugkeer plot

From May to July 1989, director Joost Verheij followed a number of Afghan refugees in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Through a family in Peshawar and a family returning to Afghanistan, the film shows the problems facing the refugees. By successively showing the reception of refugees, their lives in Peshawar and the reconstruction of life in Afghanistan, the film gives a picture of a people on the run.
