De Terrorist Hans-Joachim Klein plot
Portrait of the ex-terrorist Hans-Joachim Klein. At the end of 1975, he participated with the notorious terrorist Carlos in the bloody hostage-taking of the assembled OPEC ministers in Vienna. The hostage takers escaped through North Africa, but Klein repented and turned his back on terrorism. From that moment on he had to go into hiding from the police and his former comrades in arms. In this documentary, Klein confronts his past, of which he is anything but proud. Supported by archive footage, Klein tells how he became involved in left-wing activism, naively chose armed struggle and how that choice continued to haunt him. In Frankfurt he visits old acquaintances, including Daniel Cohn-Bendit. After Klein was arrested in Normandy in 1998 and served a prison sentence, he is a free man.
