Diamond dealer Abraham Asscher and professor David Cohen were the two presidents of the Jewish Council. Set up by the German occupiers, they faced an impossible task. Who should and who should not be on the lists for deportation via Camp Westerbork to the extermination camps in the East. Forced by the Nazis, they had no choice. A black page in Dutch history because they could not count on moral support from the government in exile and the royal family. Former journalist Hans Knoop meets Rob Oudkerk, grandson of Cohen and Leon de Winter, in a moving reconstruction of a major drama that to this day prefers not to be talked about.
