De Laatste Wens van Moek plot
In the documentary 'Moek's last wish', Albert Heringa reveals that he gave his 99-year-old stepmother, who considered her life complete, assisted suicide. The 99-year-old Maria (Moek) Heringa was not ill but found her life complete and did not want to live any longer. She asked her doctor to help her. The doctor understood her wish, but thought she was still 'too good' to comply with her request. Mortification, stopping eating and drinking, seemed to her the only option. But Mook didn't feel like that. Albert decided to help her with her self-induced death and to give her the anti-malaria pills he had left over from his travels in the tropics. In combination with an antiemetic and sleeping pills, she ended her life.
