De Koele Woede plot
Paris-based political cartoonist Bernard 'Willem' Holtrop regularly wins prizes. However, he thinks fame is nonsense. But, he admits: 'As long as you can do things that you are not ashamed of in magazines that you are not ashamed of, I do want to have a large audience, yes.' Holtrop comments on the news, contemporary history is his theme. His work is quite controversial, because lawsuits are also his share. Where is his moral limit? Even one of his loyal French patrons doesn't know. And some drawings even go too far for his wife. Holtrop's goal is to hit nerves, otherwise he might as well make illustrations, he thinks. His political cartoons are played to the accompaniment of mostly jazzy music. Interspersed with images of the life he and his wife Medi lead.
