De Dans om de Kast plot
“The Dance around the Closet” is a documentary about an 'Aron Hakodesh' (Holy Ark), a closet in a synagogue that contains the tables of the law. A group of Christian aid workers from Arnemuiden found the cupboard in the attic of a church in Transylvania. Together with the Orthodox Jewish from Amsterdam Mottel Aronson, they do everything they can to remove the religious object from there and give it a destination in Jerusalem. The sudden interest in 'their' closet means that the inhabitants of the Transylvanian village do not want to lose the last remnant of the once vibrant Jewish community.
