De Cirkel van Armoede plot
About 642,000 Dutch households lived below the official poverty line in 2006. In the Amsterdam Bijlmer this is even the case for 25 percent of the population. In South-East, many of those people, driven to despair by the official bureaucracy, are helped back on their way by John and Celine, two employees of the Service Platform Amsterdam Foundation. In the office, one client sits silent and helpless, the other is furious and desperate. Living and dining with bread with a layer of sugar for five months on the Food Bank will not leave anyone in the dark.
