De Bewakers van Bemelen plot

Pierre and Willie Pittie, two brothers in their seventies, still live together in their parental home in Bemelen. This small village five kilometers from Maastricht is slowly changing under pressure from urban commuters and the emerging tourist industry. Together with psychiatric patient Paul, the brothers are champions of informal care in this small community. Pierre is a member of just about every local club and performs daily manual labor for his childhood friend Tiny, who can no longer walk very well. His unflappable selflessness makes him the walking angel of Bemelen.
