De Algerijnse Tijden plot

The film paints a picture of the time of Algeria at the end of the seventies, more than fifteen years after the Algerian War. The country is dominated by contrasts, including between countryside and town, agriculture and industry, traditional and modern culture and contrasts between men and women. Although Algeria strives for a socialist state, the gap between the metropolitan bourgeoisie and the rural population still appears to be huge.
