Day of the Kamikaze plot

In April 1945, things looked bad for the Imperial Japanese forces in their struggle against the Americans for control of the Pacific. As a desperate last resort, the Japanese High Command ordered thousands of pilots to drop their planes on American ships like live bombs. Archive footage and interviews with surviving pilots investigate how young Japanese were convinced to give their lives in the battle for Okinawa.
