Dachkantine. We Miss You So Much! plot
In 2003 Zurich gained an underground electro club: the Dachkantine. It became the largest of its kind in Europe. In 2006 the party ended abruptly. The documentary makers followed the enthusiastic founders, various artists and club regulars for about four weeks, during a major closing festival. In the club -- the canteen of a former dairy processing factory -- the special programming invariably attracted audiences from all kinds of subcultures. From minimal techno lovers to electropunk fans and political activists. Earning was not the most important thing for the founders, it was always the music. By means of interviews and concert registrations in which minimal techno DJs, reciting authors and ten-piece bands alternate, a complete picture of the idiosyncratic club is sketched.
