Con Mi Corazón en Yambo plot

In 1988, when Fernanda was ten years old, her brothers Santiago (17) and Andrés (14) mysteriously disappeared. A year later, the family discovered that the Ecuadorian police had kidnapped, severely beaten and murdered the boys without any grounds. The bodies were dumped in Lake Yambo - and never recovered. 'With My Heart in Yambo' is Fernanda's heartbreaking contribution to the difficult processing of a devastating family trauma. In a poetic, contemplative voice-over, she makes a courageous attempt to arrange the events into a meaningful whole. The film becomes more and more a self-examination: how did the death of her brothers determine her own life?
